Yad Vashem, The Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority (Israel) decided to award to Maria and Fortunato Sonno with the title of "Righteous Among the Nations", for help rendered to Jewish persons (specially to the family of Signora Elena Servi) during the period of the Holocaust. As well the following families from Pitigliano have been awarded with the title "Righteious Among the Nations":Luciano Dainelli and his parents Vincenzo and Adele; Stefano, Adele and Sem Perugin; Agostino and Annunziata Nucciarelli; Letizia and Domenico Simonelli ; Maria and Martino Bisogni (all of the awarded have been rescuers of Elena Servi , Ariel Paggi ,and their families) . On 5.3.03 will be held the ceremony "Consegna della Medaglia "Giusti fra le Nazioni" at the Palazzo Municipale of Pitigliano |
